FROM MONUMENT TO MASSES’ ON LITTLE KNOWN FREQUENCIES on THE SILENT BALLET’s Top 50 Releases of 2009
January 23, 2010

Congratulations to our boys in FMTM on getting featured as #20 on THE SILENT BALLET’s staff top 50 releases of 2009!
“After six years of absence, FMTM returns with an ambitious album featuring a charged political agenda, but it is behind the band’s overt aims that the essence of On Little Known Frequencies lies. With an intricate immix of genres, FMTM’s melodic, intense, and catchy compositions coalesce into a complexly themed piece of music. Unpredictable and yet clearly studied, the songs take the form of an atypical trip; the elegant winding roads seem enticing on a first spin, but they definitely aren’t for everyone. Dare to delve further, though, and the serious eclecticism will stand out and make this album worth keeping on one’s list of prodigious records. (Diana Sitaru)”

FMTM put on a fantastic show, I heard someone say it was the best show they’ve seen this year.
FROM MONUMENT TO MASSES play NOISE POP this ThursdaY (FEB. 26TH) - their first live show in San Fran since Dec. 2007! GO TO IT!
February 23, 2009
DON’T FORGET - From Monument To Masses will be headlining San Francisco’s Bottom of the Hill THIS THURSDAY, February 26, as a part of the Bay’s 17th annual Noise Pop Festival. If you live in in the San Francisco area, you really need to go to this show - it’s going to be a real good one!
The festival prides itself on providing exposure to emerging artists, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim, including the White Stripes, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, Bright Eyes, The Donnas, Jeff Tweedy (of Wilco) and Silversun Pickups.
It’s the perfect place for From Monument To Masses to kick off its support for “On Little Known Frequencies”, their eagerly-anticipated fourth full-length release on Dim Mak / Downtown Records (Due 2/24 on iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, etc. and March 10 in stores) which they recorded and produced with Seattle, Washington’s Matt Bayles (Minus The Bear, Russian Circles, Mastodon).
The show will be the first time the band has played in its hometown since Dec. 1, 2007. They’re joined by fellow Bay Area indie rock staples Crime in Choir (GSL) and Built for the Sea. Follow the link for show details and to buy advance tickets now (strongly recommended).

If you dig the band and the album, then you can help make a huge difference for From Monument to Masses by helping them gain they buzz they deserve on college radio. You can request any song you want, but we encourage the first single (a spine-tinglingly awesome song), “Beyond God and Elvis”.

So, please hit hard with your requests to any and all of the stations and below, starting TODAY!
***CONTEST***
To make this even more interesting, we are going to throw a little contest at you!
- For every request that you make to a radio station, email Contest@dimmak.com (1) the station, (2) the song request, (3) the date and time, and (4) their response (ex: “Sure, we’ll play it” OR “Crap, we don’t have that.”). PLEASE let us know, if for some reason, they don’t have the album.
- If you go online and find the station’s website or myspace and make a request on there, please CC Contest@dimmak.com or forward us your message.
- Please try to send all your requests on a given day in one email or message so we don’t get overloaded.

The band has “sweetened the deal” by adding these perks to the contest:
“Anyone who’s actually willing to take their time to help us out deserves a personal “Thank You”. With that said, FMTM will give the TOP 10 (including the 3 Dim Mak winners) a prize package including limited edition silkscreened FMTM posters, buttons, and stickers. Just enter as listed out above and we’ll get your info from Dim Mak. Thanks in advance for helping out!!! - Sergio/FMTM”
***THE RELEASE***
From Monument to Masses return with their sophomore release “On Little Known Frequencies” on Dim Mak Records, weaving together an eclectic array of genres into their post-rock core. Inspired by everything from hip hop beats to classical string
arrangements to the explosive energy of early hardcore, FMTM twist these styles to match their aesthetic instead of throwing out overt references. The album is also laden with spooky snippets of sampled political dialogue, another example of the band’s decision to stray away from simply saying what they feel. FMTM recorded over 60+ minutes of adventurous, forward-thinking music that resulted in quite possibly the last great instrumental rock opus. Think “Dark Side of the Moon” meets DJ Shadow’s “Endtroducing”.
To listen to the band, please check out their myspace HERE or their RCRDLBL page HERE.
