Hello Willowz Fans(and Fans to be)
Let us just tell you a little about what has been going on in our world. We have been rooted in Dallas, TX for almost two weeks now. WHY???
Well it has been a long two year journey and we finally found the perfect time, place, and producer to make the 4th Willowz album.
Perfect Time= Winter, what else are you going to do besides sit on your butt indoors to keep warm? Make a damn record!
Perfect Place= Elmwood Recording Studio (Dallas, TX) …..We wanted to be close to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s grave. No further explanation needed. Stevie’s spirit really put Richie and Will into gear for this record. Hehehehe.
Our Perfect Producer= Stuart Sikes! He’s been around the block a bit and has worked with bands like Cat Power, The White Stripes, The Walkmen, Modest Mouse, Loretta Lynn, Hot Hot Heat, The Promise Ring, Maritime, Fuck, Jets to Brazil, The Grifters, The Reigning Sound, Faces on Film, Nicole Atkins, Dove Hunter, Calhoun, Pleasant Grove, Sorta, [DARYL], Shibboleth.
We are really excited to finish and get this new (not yet titled) album out by summer 2009!
Today we are working on Richie’s vocals and Jessica’s backup vocals for the record. Damn that boy has got some amazing chords whoo whoo!!! We are trying to get as much as we can done because we are in fear of losing electrical power. Supposedly, an ice storm is suppose to hit here in Dallas soon and might knock out all the power. nothing has happened…yet. Hmmm….Either the news is slightly wrong or THANKS STEVIE!!!!!. Hehehehe.
We ate some tacos and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. AND YES WE ATE PEANUT BUTTER; we got stomachs of steal and are not going to give up a good PB&J because a couple people got sick (okay maybe not a couple. we do feel bad for those who got sick.)
Loren/Ted (Willowz new Drummer) stayed behind today at the hotel to work on his yoga stretches and read some book about why dudes like chicks that are on drugs. Some Alister Crowley book…..why are drummers so bizarre? We just hope we don’t come back to the hotel and there are candles with sacrificed squirrels everywhere because that is just a fire hazard and offensive to those PETA folks. He really did drum his little heart out these past two weeks and needed a day to be alone.
William (Willowz new guitarist) put down his guitar tracks and was out the door and on a plane to make it in time for school in a blink of an eye.
As all this is going on, we are also trying to figure out what we are going to do for SXSW….so we will let you know what is going on with that stuff!! Stay tuned.
